Welcome to the Mutiny! Here no one Survives.

There is a coloniser in my chest
Born as my twin
Raised as a sister
More needy than I am
Begging for Mother’s attention
Clawing for Father’s affection
I try to shut it up
Sew it’s scars before the bleeding drops
But here was a coloniser—
A country of Gold in its hands
Temples to be destroyed
Poison the mind to worship same gods
And behead the rebels.
There could be a coloniser in my chest
At first small and worthless
A trader, wanderer, seafarer
mere explorers of the city
Now the headlines of newspapers
Describe her -as if she created this civilisation!
Her figurines overshadow the crowd
And burnt marks reside
where rebels were massacred.
There could be a coloniser in my chest
Expanding and controlling
The natives feel foreign;
Why does home feel like horns ?
How much longer could they stay?
How many more must they slay?
There could be a coloniser in my chest
But it reigns high as the monarch
Or higher than the Lord
It asks me to leave this place- an exile
From my own motherland
And what now?
Would I march in peace ?
Or burn it all in rebellion?
