I eat so fast that I choke on food
There is this wild hunger in me
For peace that's disgustingly repulsive
I have been starved of sanity
That the slightest whiff makes me feral;
I run into it like a wolf chained up for eons
Like soldiers feasting on bread
Like a poet writing their greatest verse.
I sleep among a thicket grove of thorns
And the slightest bloom of a flower
Makes me pluck the petals to conserve.
This hunger have made a monster out of me
The kind that lurks only in children’s books
And yet, they must all fear;
For I too am afraid of what I've become.
